| For those who may be interested I am going to try and write some more on my blog. I have gotten a new name, however, but still on xanga. I will not be posting here, rather on 'yodalef' instead. There is a reason I changed the name and if you're curious you may ask. What a name stands for is very significant to me.
I am in Israel for the summer, so I will try and write about some of my experiences here.

| Here's a short clip from an Israeli newspaper today:
"Some terror leaders, particularly from the Al Aqsa Brigades, whose associated Fatah party scored poorly in last month's parliamentary elections, say they are planning massive violence against Israeli civilians mostly to revolt against the new Hamas-controlled Palestinian government."
This makes no sense to me.
| Ok, so I haven't really posted in a while. Sorry Michelle I never saw your request until I randomly checked my page.
1. There are some condiments that I love so much that I'll eat something else just to be able to eat the condiment: sour cream, sauerkraut and cream cheese (ok, I may eat this one by itself).
2. I'm trying to learn a few dead languages but no one will teach me.
3. I'd shave the mustache part of my beard off if the Omish had not claimed that style first.
4. I scratch my head with the hand from the opposite side of the itch. For some reason it makes sense that way to me.
5. After years of making from of my Mac friends, I converted.
| I realized of late that I still have the heart of a college student even though it's been a few years. Here's my proof.
Someone told me the other day that there was going to be free pizza somewhere on campus. Of course this sounded great. I decided to go not even knowing what the event was. Does it matter? Free food! As a side note, I've been eating a lot of sandwhiches lately. I've cooked pasta once and rice with fried eggs once. But that's about it. The cafeteria is a little expensive. Today, however, I was walking outside with my pita sandwhich (humus, tomato and cucumber- I can't store sandwhich meat in the mini-fridge because my roomate is religious and you can't have milk products and meat products in the same fridge, not that I would buy the sandwhich meat because it's so expensive, so I've become half vegetarian here) and a guy I was talking to in class said he was walking to the cafeteria on one of our 30 min breaks. I said I'd walk with him. When I entered the food looked so good that I abandoned my pitiful sandwhich and decided to splurge. Of course I had this beef thing (didn't matter what as long as it was meat) as well as some couscous. When I first came I thought I would pack a lunch and try to eat in a cafeteria for dinner, but most of the places close at 4 or 5 because it's the summer. I think now I'll have my luxurious cafeteria meal for lunch and make something in the dorms for dinner.
But back to the free pizza event. I found out that it was a lecture on the Big Bang and Torah. It seemed interesting enough, but still the free food was the draw (despite the fact it was pizza). I got there and only was able to get two slices and ended up spending about 2 hours of my precious time. I wouldn't go into the lecture because I don't have enough time. It was somewhat interesting. The guy knew a lot and talked about 200 miles an hour- all scientific jumbo. About every 20 minutes I caught something that actually intrigued me. Most were quite bored by it and of course when for the sole purpose of the pizza. I talked to one guy who only got one piece and he said it was definitely not worth it. I still haven't decided if my 2 pieces were worth the 2 hours.
| I've been good and set a daily routine already for my day. I've been going to bed between 10:30-11 each night. Being a dorm it is quite lot until very late, but I've fortunate to go to sleep alright because I've been pretty tired- normally I'm a very light sleeper. It has been over 5 years since I have lived in a dorm, so I had forgotten somewhat of the late night noise and all the wonderful other pleasures that go along with this environment. (My last year in the dorms at Wash U my suite was actually the loud one on the floor, meaning it was quiet for me when we weren' making all sorts of racket.)
In the morning I wake up at 7. It's great because it is very quiet in the morning and no one else is using the showers. There are 3 very small stalls for showers. The only other person around that early is the Muslim cleaning lady who is usually cleaning the toilet area whenI get out of the showers. Personally it doesn't bother me to walk out in my boxers and her cleaning the bathroom, but I'm not sure if it bothers her. I quess she would change her routine a little to be cleanign the kitchen or something if it did.
